Healthcare Strategy & Planning

Turning healthcare strategy into something that works in practice

Healthcare strategies need to balance ambition with the realities of the market: patient needs, regulation, competition, available capabilities, funding and the ability of an organisation to actually deliver.

We support healthcare providers, investors and public-sector organisations in defining where they want to go, understanding what needs to change and developing a practical path to get there.

Our work can start with a specific growth question, a new healthcare concept or a broader review of an organisation's strategy and operating model.

HOW WE HELP

  • Strategic Planning & Growth

Reviewing existing strategy, vision and objectives, assessing current capabilities and identifying practical growth opportunities. We help translate strategic priorities into defined initiatives, measurable targets and an implementation roadmap.

  • Model of Care

Designing and optimising models of care around the needs of patients and the organisation. This can include clinical and diagnostic capabilities, service configuration, operating processes, supporting functions, leadership requirements and the role of technology.

  • Operating Model & Organisation

Looking at how the organisation actually needs to work to deliver its strategy — from organisation structure and governance to roles, processes, staffing and performance measures.

  • Healthcare Investment Strategy

Supporting investors and healthcare organisations in assessing opportunities through market demand, competitive positioning, market saturation, organisational capabilities and strategic fit.

  • Strategy Implementation

Moving from recommendations to action through prioritised initiatives, quick wins, implementation roadmaps and, where needed, PMO or delivery-unit support.

OUR APPROACH

We don't believe every healthcare strategy starts in the same place.

Sometimes the question is where to grow. Sometimes it is what services to offer. Sometimes the strategy is already there, but the organisation, processes or operating model are not ready to deliver it.

Our work therefore typically starts with an on-the-ground diagnostic: understanding the current strategy, the organisation, its services and performance, and the market around it.

From there, we identify gaps and opportunities, test the strategic options and work with management to design the future model.

The emphasis is on making the strategy implementable — with clear initiatives, responsibilities, measurable targets and a roadmap for change.

From Diagnosis to Delivery

  1. Understand: Current strategy, services, capabilities, performance and market environment.

  2. Diagnose: Identify gaps, inefficiencies, growth opportunities and, importantly, quick wins.

  3. Design: Develop the strategic direction, operating model and priority initiatives.

  4. Implement: Translate the strategy into an actionable roadmap and support implementation where required.

  5. Sustain: Build internal capabilities, measures and ownership so that change continues after the project is complete

Relevant Team Experience

Our team's healthcare strategy experience spans public and private healthcare organisations, investors and family offices across the GCC. It includes strategic planning and strategic-plan reviews, public-health restructuring, operating-model and organisation design, healthcare business planning, medical-city planning, healthcare facility activation and growth strategy. This experience gives us a practical perspective on strategy: not only what an organisation should do, but what will be required to make it work.
